This is a 30x30 oil on canvas that I am currently working on. I'm experimenting with using gold and bronze paints, and am enjoying the process. This painting was inspired by an early October snow storm that started out as freezing rain and then dumped nearly two feet of snow. The bird is painted from "life" - it is one of the many birds I have found dead and then preserved in plastic in the freezer in my studio. My grandkids love to come view my collection of birds: starling, robin, meadowlark, hummingbird and sparrow. You can read more about this painting here.
