Finish Line by Kay Wyne

Finish Line
Oil on 16" x 16" canvas
SOLD
This painting sold yesterday at the studio tour. I have always like the subject matter, color, movement and balance in this painting. A very nice lady named Madge purchased this, and I have no doubt that it will be hanging in a very nice place. Thanks to Madge and all the other visitors at the studio tour...it was alot of fun and success!

Times Square NYC by Kay Wyne

Times Square NYC
Times Square is such a fun, busy and colorful place with alot going on...I wanted to capture the feel---the energy of NYC in this painting. It is a 22" x 28" gallery wrap canvas. It was my first cityscape painting...my husband took the photo I used as a reference last July while we were visiting NYC. This will be on display this weekend at the Studio Art and Soul during the Cedars Open Studio Tour in Dallas. I hope to see some of you there!

Yarn by Kay Wyne

Yarn
This is a 18" x 18" oil painting on a gallery wrap canvas. Very colorful. Inspired by yarn. Lots of stacked up yarn in a bin. It is a kaleidoscope of variegated colors. I thought I would rename this painting, but Yarn it is. Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing. No frame needed...it is ready to hang!

Texas Star by Kay Wyne

Texas Star
This contemporary oil painting is on a 16" x 16" canvas. Sides are painted, but a frame would be very handsome on this painting. Years ago John and I bought some iron architectural elements from an old man at Canton Trade Days. We painted them and hung them on the brick wall on the patio. They are quite interesting, and although they must have an official name, I call then Texas Stars. I haven't signed this painting yet, but it is finished. Almost. I hope to get to the studio today and put finishing touches on several paintings. Thanks for viewing this blog, and please feel free to contact me about any of my paintings! kay@kwyne.com

Horizon Series: Abstract 1027 by Kay Wyne

Horizon Series: Abstract 1027
Oil on 22" x 30" Gallery Wrap Canvas
When I started this painting, I was thinking of painting abstract circles...but after one day of painting, I changed my mind and went in another direction. After day one, the canvas composition changed...and I put a horizon line it in, and took out the circles. It was too complicated, so I painted out everything. I also changed my color palette. Some of the colors were random, like the cad yellow and paynes gray. I wasn't happy with the color combination. I put down the brush and picked up the palette knife. The layers of paint went on...I have not signed this painting, but it could be finished. I am taking a few days to let it sit before I sign it.This contemporary abstract is on gallery wrap canvas, so no frame is needed. It is ready to hang once I sign and make a few minor changes.

My husband and I are getting ready to do Santa Fe!!! I can't wait. It is always so inspirational to visit New Mexico. If you are interested in this painting, please contact me. Thanks for viewing my art!
